A Compassionate Approach to Mindful Eating Workshop

Sat June 24, 2017 @ 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm

A Compassionate Approach to Mindful Eating  is a practice that empowers you to create a wise and satisfying relationship with food.

The fact is that most diets don’t work – especially for the long term. For all of our dieting efforts we continue to struggle with food.  We may police ourselves, giving food labels such as “good or bad” and “healthy or unhealthy” to everything we eat.  We may also get wrapped up in the eat it, regret it, repeat it paradigm.

This workshop will introduce you to a new way to relate to food that is a refreshing break from the negative habits and conversations surrounding food. You will have the opportunity to learn about, experience and explore:

•The Truth about Diets – The research behind the biological and emotional effects of dieting; the insidious nature of diet mentality; and the empowering role of the non-diet mentality.

•Mindfulness – Using a practice of awareness to tune in with our bodies and minds helps to inform our decisions from a place of wisdom.

•The Compassion Model – Using compassion and values based actions to inform our decisions from a place of wisdom.

•Intuitive Eating Principles – Learning the six principles to increase awareness in the area of mind-body-food practices.

Bring peace to food.  Finally!
